What’s Covered Under Warranty?

At Russell Room Remodelers, we believe your remodel should be a source of pride, not stress. When you invest in transforming your home, you deserve to feel confident that the work will last. That’s why we back our work with a warranty that gives you long-term peace of mind.

As a licensed Minnesota contractor, we are required by law to have a warranty available for our work. Minnesota has a Statute (327A) that specifically addresses warranties for construction and home improvements. More info can be found on the Minnesota Legislature site if you would like to read it in its entirety. We know the word “warranty” can feel a little confusing, so let’s break it down clearly with what’s covered, what’s not, and why it matters.

What We Cover

Workmanship and installation
A remodel is about both what products you choose and how they’re installed. We stand by the skill and precision of our team. If something was built or installed incorrectly, we’ll fix it within the first year. Our reputation is built on craftsmanship, and we don’t take shortcuts.

Defective products or materials
From time to time, even high-quality products can come with hidden defects. If something we supplied that is supposed to work simply doesn’t, we’ll replace it on our dime for the first two years. After the first two years, many products carry a manufacturer’s warranty that is even longer. For example, if a cabinet hinge won’t close properly or a brand-new faucet has a leak that’s not caused by use, we’ll make it right. Most of these issues are caught before your project is even finished, but in the rare event something gets past us, you can rest assured we’ll step in.

Structural integrity for 10 years
We want your remodel to feel just as solid a decade from now as it does the day it’s completed. That’s why we cover any structural issues for 10 years. This includes things like framing, beams, trusses, joists, or structural elements that should stand the test of time. If a structural member of your project isn’t holding as it should, we’ll take care of it. You shouldn’t have to worry about the bones of your remodel, and with our warranty, you won’t have to.

What We Don’t Cover

Intentional or accidental destruction
Accidents happen, like a child running into a wall with a toy, or someone dropping something heavy on a countertop. While we can always help with repairs, damage caused by intentional or unintentional actions after the remodel is complete isn’t covered under warranty. Our warranty is designed to protect against construction or product issues, not daily mishaps.

Normal wear and tear
Every home is lived in, and with that comes normal signs of use. Over time, painted walls may scuff, countertops may scratch, and finishes may dull. These are part of the natural life cycle of materials and aren’t considered warranty issues. Think of it this way: if it’s the kind of wear you’d expect from regular use, it’s outside the scope of coverage.

Third-party alterations
If another contractor, installer, or even you make changes to our work after we’ve completed it, our warranty doesn’t apply to those areas anymore. Once our work is altered, we can no longer warrantee how the materials or structure will hold up, since they’ve been changed from our original installation.

Why Our Warranty Matters

At the end of the project, our warranty is an important part of our process. We take pride in our work, and we will stand behind what we build. We want you to be confident about your remodel for years to come.

Remodeling is an investment in your home, your comfort, and your lifestyle. Our warranty gives you the assurance that if something tied to our craftsmanship or the structural quality of your remodel doesn’t hold up, we’ll step in and take care of it. You won’t be left wondering who to call or worrying that your project will last. Your remodel should be beautiful, functional, and long-lasting, and our warranty is just one more way we make sure that happens.
