Carnelian Basement

Worn and weathered from years of family gatherings, friendly hangouts, and pets running amok, the basement family room was in dire need of some updates. As one of the main used spaces of the home, the dated wet bar and aged carpet had seen better days, which led the homeowners to seek out our help in creating a space where people look forward to spending their time. Once the wet bar and flooring were removed, and all mechanical items were taken care of, we worked within the existing footprint to bring this room back to life.

The first big step in this process was installing a beautiful brushed European oak engineered hardwood flooring throughout the entire area. The decision to lay the floor in a herringbone pattern gives the room a sense of levity and adds to the overall visual interest. Next came transitioning the old wet bar area into a new and improved dry bar. This was accomplished using full custom cabinetry finished in a deep navy blue, brushed gold hardware, luxury Cambria quartz countertop, and a mirrored tile backsplash. The finishing touch came in the form of an updated lighting scheme to brighten up the space, complete with LED recessed ceiling fixtures, wall sconces, a modern pool table light, and cabinet lighting in the bar area. Awash with a fresh coat of paint, this room is ready to be fully utilized for friends, family and fun!
